We are an independent, 501 3c canine rescue in Boerne, TX (approximately 8 miles north of San Antonio off I 10 West Fair Oaks Ranch Exit). We help all breeds many of which are shy and timid dogs off euthanasia lists who otherwise have no hope because of their timid nature. Most of these dogs are kennel stressed and after appropriate decompression, socialization and affection, blossom into the dogs they are meant to be! We also rescue dogs that are not shy and timid, to help the shy ones grow in confidence! It's a balance.

They become affectionate, are typically submissive and  dog-kid friendly.  They run free on 2 acres of fully fenced property with three resident dogs and 7 children - playing, learning manners while waiting for their furever homes! We are not a breed specific rescue, and typically have 4-7 small dogs, 4 medium and 2 large at any given time.  All dogs are fully vetted (altered, micro-chipped , have all shots current with their age,  hw negative and on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives and de-wormed).  Please do not ask to adopt a dog /puppy without alteration. We do not release dogs that are not altered.

All dogs are on grain/corn/filler free dog food and snacks, and are bathed with organic shampoos.  The neighborhood mobile vet, Dr. Ron Ezell cares for all incoming rescues, each receiving a thorough exam and any dog needing care can be adopted but will be sent home with medications paid for by rescue.

About Us

"Hi Julie, Thank you so much for taking such great care of our Brutus. Took him to the vet today and he is 100% healthy-they were impressed he was neutered and had up to date shots before I picked him up! thank you and your family for loving him and making this process so easy! He loves his new home and is very smart!"~Daniel, Brutus' owner

"I couldn't have asked for a better match for us! Oliver is just as Julie described. She was so helpful in transporting him to South Dakota.  Absolutely, the best rescue! 5 Stars"~Darla, Oliver's Owner, SD

Who was Pita anyway? Pita is the reason we started rescuing-she was our beloved Boxer/Pitbull mix, and at age 1.5 died of kidney failure, a birth defect that could not be treated. She was shy and timid, always obedient, always loving and loyal. We see a little bit of Pita in each of our rescues and to honor her memory we save dogs like her to help otherwise forgotten dogs like she was find their new homes. We love you Pita and you are not forgotten!! Thank you for giving us such joy you taught us alot and are very missed~your family, the Martins
